An introduction into the magical blue world of indigo dyeing.
People across time, and all over the world have loved indigo blue. From the ancient Egyptians to blue jeans wearing cowboys it is a color much admired. This very special pigment has no parallels. During this evening event participants will learn about what indigo is, and will learn to fold and clamp a cotton bandana to create gorgeous blue patterns after the cloth is dipped in the indigo vat.
I am excited to share something that has been such a source of interest and joy for me over the last 25 years. The Saturday workshop, Home Town Blues, offers a more in depth look at this magnificent pigment, and is a good companion to this introductory evening.
