Artist Statement about Piece: This story cloth is about source connection. It’s about familiar hands harvesting indigo pigment grown from seed and local small farms, tender operations for small-scale communal blue. It’s about local resources like native Salal berry reducer harvested on Ridge Path and a compost pile of persicaria tinctoria plants propagating new leaves. A rebirth. Indigo the doula inviting us into the next portal.
